Windows 8: Made for Education

As part of my travels, it has been a thrill to share some of the new features and apps for Windows 8, and I have really enjoyed answering questions and sharing the potential for innovations that Windows 8 offers educators. With years of trial and error, and with the collaboration of teachers and education experts throughout the world, I am more confident than ever that Windows 8 can be part of the solution that helps to transform education today.  Here’s a demo I did on the great features of Windows 8 that might give you some new ideas as you work in this exciting new platform:

It’s perhaps even more exciting to see how educators are making Windows 8 their own. I’m honored to share a new initiative developed by Partners in Learning Microsoft expert educators and trainers in Western Europe. Daily Edventures alumni Ovi Barceló (Spain, Microsoft certified trainer), Luis Fernandes (Portugal, Microsoft expert educator) and João Cunha (Portugal, Microsoft expert educator) have built a bilingual blog to help educators in their countries choose the best Windows 8 applications for education.

And they’ve even taken it a step further, selecting the top apps that are most suitable for lessons. Barcelo, Fernandes and Cunha are eager for feedback, and are also looking for contributors in other languages. Let them know what you think!
