As Nikila Kakarla was saying a few days ago in her interview, “We need to prepare students for 21st century jobs specifically in STEM fields. Every technology company has a vested interest in STEM education and should be investing in education. This means not only traditional STEM education, but also digitizing our classrooms and having technology available that students will encounter when they leave the classroom.”
This infographic provides some interesting insights and reiterates how critical this subject is for economic growth, innovation and students employability. I am also proud that Microsoft is organize every year Imagine Cup that is the world’s premier student technology competition. We invite all eligible students to use their imagination and passion to create a technology solution in one of our competitions and challenges. The Worldwide Finals will be in St. Pertersburg, Russia this Thursday! I encourage you to learn more about this competition and watch the awards ceremony live on July 11 at 1:30pm GMT. Matt Smith of BBC’s Doctor Who, will host this ceremony. We’ve got more than one million dollars in prizes for these students and we can’t wait to see who will take home the Imagine Cup!
Let me know what you think @anthonysalcito.
