Ghandi famously said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” For educator Ramón Rodríguez Galán, being that change has transformed learning for his students and his school.

It all started when Galán decided to take the lead in modernizing the pedagogical approach at his school. Through this process, his school became a Microsoft Showcase School, and Galán himself became a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) and an MIE Master Trainer. He offers Office365 training sessions throughout Spain, and shares his experiences broadly on his blog.

“I love education and I work hard to offer my students the best classes possible,” says Galán. “I love ICT and technology.” He is also a frequent collaborator at Microsoft events, and is dedicated to helping other educators feel more comfortable with technology in their classrooms.

“My favorite classroom activity is using Office365 to do projects and team work (Word Online and Sway, for example),” Galán shares with us. “And, of course, my multiple intelligences project with Minecraft Education Edition. It’s amazing!”

For an educator who proclaims, “Education is my life,” it’s difficult for Galán to choose one moment as his most memorable. Instead, he tells us, “I prefer thinking that every day in my classroom will be the best day ever. Yesterday, a pupil’s family said to me that I really was making the change in education real for their student. [To me], that’s really great. We have to bring solutions to the demands of our children. Educators have to be prepared for it.
